Beginner Ceramic Hand-building (2-Part Workshop)
This series is ideal for beginners or anyone interested in ceramics without committing to a full term. Workshops are held over a fortnight.
WORKSHOP 1: HAND-BUILDING BASICS
Learn basic hand-building techniques to create everyday items – such as cups, bowls, plates and vases. Explore different clays, make beautiful pieces to take home and walk away with a new art skill. Let's get our hands dirty!
WORKSHOP 2: GLAZE & COLOUR
This workshop gives the opportunity to glaze and colour any work made in the first session. We'll cover a range of surface decoration techniques using brush-on glazes and underglazes. This is an exciting part of the handmade process that will deepen your understanding and appreciation of ceramics.
Ticket price includes both workshops and afternoon tea. Workshops are held at Think Thornbury, 800 High Street. All materials and tools will be provided. Please wear an apron or old shirt you don't mind getting dirty. Participants will be notified once their work is ready for collection; typically 3-4 weeks after the last workshop.
