Glazing and firing are critical steps in the pottery making process. They work to transform raw clay into durable, waterproof and food safe pottery that you can use for eating and drinking.

Glazes add a protective glass coating to the surface of raw clay, which melts and seals the clay when exposed to high temperatures in a kiln firing.

When you book our Glazing + Firing service, you’ll have exclusive access to our studio’s unique range of custom glazes for us to finish your pieces in. Each glaze offers a beautiful colour and finish to bring your handmade creations to life. At Everyday Clay, we’re all about that personal touch and making your pieces shine.

Publicly accessible kiln services manage thousands of ceramics at a time, which can lead to mishandling, breakages and pottery going missing.

To reduce potential mishaps and take the stress of finding a kiln off your shoulders, our Glazing + Firing service offers you a no-fuss way to safely and securely turn your pieces into fully functional pottery.

You are eligible to book our Glazing + Firing service if you meet the following criteria:

• You have completed an Everyday Clay DIY clay kit, and your pieces are only made using the clays and materials provided to you in our kit

• Your clay kit pieces are unglazed and unfired (i.e., they are just raw clay), and have been allowed to dry for at least 10 days; and

• You are able to drop off your clay kit pieces at our studio in person, located at 9 Blannin Street, Healesville, VIC 3777 (map).

We offer all-inclusive, flat-rate pricing to provide transparent and predictable costs upfront with no surprises.

Our pricing is based on the type of clay kit completed, rather than the total weight or quantity of pieces to be glazed and fired.
