Do you want to keep up the clay making fun? This Top Up Kit is ideal for those who previously purchased our DIY Clay Kit and already have the tools and basic knowledge they need to continue creating.

With this package, you’ll be able to sample a wide selection of clays and paints without having to buy in bulk. We encourage you to mix and match between our offerings to experience the different clay textures and colours we’ve come to love.

Each kit is carefully crafted and made to order. All materials are food-safe and non-toxic so your finished work can be used for eating and drinking. At ‘Add to Cart’ stage you will be prompted to enter your desired clay and paint selections.

Choose your clays

Your Top Up Kit includes either 2kg, 4kg or 6kg of clay across the total order. We offer a number of different clays and each type comes in a 1kg block. For example, if you selected 6kg of clay as the total weight, you could have up to 6 individual clay blocks in different colours and types. There is no quantity limit on each type and you could select 6 of the same if you wish. When making your selection, please select your total clay weight and enter the desired quantities for each type (see photos for descriptions).

Choose your paints

Your Top Up Kit also includes a set of 5 paints for decorating your handmade creations. Our paints are specially formulated for ceramics and each set is fully customisable, so you’re welcome to pick and choose your favourite colours. There is no quantity limit on each colour and you could select 5 of the same if you wish. Each colour comes in pots of either 15ml (for 2kg clay), 20ml (for 4kg clay) or 30ml (for 6kg clay).

The following paints are available to choose from: White, Orange, Bright Red, Blush, Pink, Mint, Dark Green, Dark Teal, Bright Blue, Blue, Navy, Light Brown, Dark Brown, Grey, Black.

Complimentary glazing and firing

Publicly accessible kiln services manage thousands of ceramics at a time, which often leads to mishandling, breakages and things going missing. That’s why, in addition to this kit, we’re including our studio glazing and firing service to take the stress of finding a kiln off your shoulders. The booking period for this complimentary service is one year from purchase.

After making your ceramics, we’ll personally collect them for glazing and firing, and deliver them back to you if you live within 30kms driving distance of our Healesville studio (map). If you live outside this radius and are happy to travel, please drop off and collect your work here. Alternatively, if you’re unable to travel to Healesville, we also organise monthly collection dates at various pop-up venues (bookings required, for more information see here), so you can conveniently drop-off your raw creations or collect your finished work at a location closer to you.

Rest assured, instructions for arranging pickups and drop-offs are included in each kit – so gift recipients will know exactly what to do when they have completed theirs.

Want to learn more about our glazing and firing process? Our expert kiln technician will personally handle and glaze your creations, and ensure they are safely and securely fired in our private kiln away from prying eyes. You can choose to glaze each piece in either a clear gloss or white glaze. As part of this service, we will also sand and polish your ceramics free of charge prior to delivery.
